The City of Kitchener, formerly the City of Berlin (1854 – 1916), in southwestern Ontario, Canada, has a population of 209,000. The metropolitan area, which includes the two neighbouring cities of Waterloo and Cambridge, has 490,000 people, making it the tenth largest CMA in Canada and now the fourth largest CMA in Ontario by population.
